An original large 20 x 27.5 inch Third Reich era print of the painting called “U-Boot kehrt vom Feindfahrt Zurück” by renowned German artist Karl Blossfeld (1892 – 1957) in 1941.
The print was commissioned by the Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine and printed in high quality eight colour print by the publisher Wilhelm Limpert of Berlin during World War II.The picture is of a Nazi Kriegsmarine U-Boot returning to Germany, flying ten pennants showing the enemy tonnage it had sank during its mission. A scarce print, large poster size prints are difficult to find.
The print was never framed, the paper is slightly yellowed but the colors are still bright and vibrant and would look superb framed.
