The model number 89 Allach candle holder by Carl Diebtisch, when in the dark semi-matt glaze is one of my favourite Allach Porcelain candle holders.
Collectors often refer to this piece as the ‘black’ version but actually it’s a basalt glaze that on high temperature firing assumes a dark brown colour with a metallic sheen.
